The IMS allows you to add additional locations and boundaries to the map using Points of Interest (POIs) and Overlays. These add points, lines and polygon layers to your maps that can help with visualising your knowledge of the local security environment.
Adding Overlays
Under Overlays - Add Overlay you can upload and categorise external Google Earth KML and KMZ files to add to your platform. These can be saved and made available to use for all your users on the platform.
Adding POIs
Under Overlays - Add POIs you open a menu to add POIs. You can add multiple POIs using an excel spreadsheet. Make sure to include the mandatory columns: 'Title', 'Type', 'Subtype', 'Lat', 'Lon', 'Details'. Like when uploading incident data, MGRS and UTM can be used but you still must include the Latitude and Longitude columns. Option fields include contact fields such as email and phone number.
See the attached template below to ensure the data is formatted correctly.
There is also a menu for adding individual Points of Interest. Add the Title, Type and Subtype and Details anda location (either MGRS, UTM or Latitude and Longitude). If you don't know the exact location, you can right-click on the location on the map and click add POI. This will open the Add POI menu with the location already filled.
