Add a KML/KMZ File

You can add Locations or POIs to your map by importing KMLs and KMZs directly to the platform.

1. Go to Locations on the menu.
2. Select the import from CSV/KML/KMZ option.
3. Click Choose File and select the file you wish to upload.
4. You must assign a group or groups.
5. If you would like to upload the file you have chosen, press Save.

To note: By default the “i” or “info” icon will be used on bulk KML/KMZ uploads.

Add a CSV File

Alternatively, you can add Locations using a CSV file.

1. Go to Locations on the menu.
2. Select the import from CSV/KML/KMZ option.
3. Click on the hyperlink to download the CSV template.
4. Add your data to the template (see below for guidance), save it and upload it as above.

CSV Template Guidance

Name: The name of your Location.

Designator: This field allows you to choose which Icon will appear on the Grid platform (i.e Hospital, Office, Police Station). If it is left blank or not a Grid Location the “Info” icon will be used as default.

Lat/ MGRS Coordinates: Input your latitude or MGRS coordinates here.

Lon: Input your longitudinal coordinates here.

Text: Include a description of your Location or POI here.

Coordinates Format (DMS / MinDec / EPSG:4326 / EPSG:900913 / MGRS): Here you must specify which coordinate type you have used in the coordinate columns. There are five different coordinate formats to choose from listed below (with examples in brackets):

• DMS (51°30'03.9"N, 00°08'32.4"W)
• MinDec (51°30.06501N, 0°8.53941W)
• EPSG:4326 (51.50108, -0.14232)
• EPSG:900913 (6710412.82996, -15843.38238)
• MGRS (30U XC 98336 09422)

To note: If you are using the MGRS column you must leave the Lon column blank. All fields must remain in the sheet for the upload to work.
