The main purpose of the Monitor Panel is to answer the question "What are the last known locations of my vehicles?".
Vehicles are shown on the map as either Recently Active or At Rest. Recently active vehicles are marked in green, whereas vehicles at rest are marked in orange.
You are able to display either groups one at a time, or both at the same time by selecting from the different options on the bottom left-hand side. You are also able to switch between showing your vehicles as individual markers or as clusters. When vehicles are shown as individual markers, the arrow in the vehicle icon shows the heading of the vehicle as measured by the GPS sensors.
A vehicle is classified as Recently Active if any movement from the vehicle has been registered during the past 15 minutes. If not, then the vehicle will be classified as At Rest.
Selecting a Recently Active vehicle shows the last one hour of position reports for that vehicle in a 'trail', to visually give a sense of the direction of travel of that vehicle. Please note that you will need to zoom in on the map in order to see this ‘trail’.
A pop up box will appear when you click on a recently active vehicle, which gives further information about that vehicle, including vehicle name and who is currently driving.
A pop up box with further information will also appear when you click on a vehicle at rest. It is also possible to click on a cluster of vehicles, which will then display information regarding all vehicles in that cluster.
Several map styles can be selected from the bottom right corner including Street, Terrain, and Satellite imagery. You can find more information about managing map base layers here.
Please note that if you need live monitoring of your vehicles, then our Grid application must be used as that platform is about real time visibility and alerting for security.
