When creating a standard security geofence on the Grid monitoring platform, users have the option of choosing 'Exclusive' or 'Inclusive' geofences. For a new user, this terminology can be a little confusing, so we've explained the difference below:
Exclusive Geofence
An exclusive geofence is used to create an area on the map where you do not wish your users to go. This could be an area known for mugging, car jackings, or armed activity for example. If a user were to travel into this area, and their tracking device report from within that area, an alarm would go off on your platform to alert you.
An exclusive geofence appears in a transparent red or orange on the Grid.
Inclusive Geofence
An inclusive geofence is used to create an area on the map where you do not wish your users to leave. An example of this would be the green zone in Baghdad. If a user were to leave this area, and their tracking device report from outside that area, an alarm would off on your platform to alert you.
An inclusive geofence appears in a transparent green on the Grid.
