You are able to see the mode of reporting for dual mode units on the Grid platform. A dual mode unit is a device that can send in reports to the platform via two different modes of reporting, like our Rhino device that can report both over cellular and satellite, or our Smart24 App that can report both over WiFi and cellular.
To check the mode of reporting for the last report sent from a specific device to the Grid please follow the below steps:
- Navigate to the Devices section from the main toolbar menu on the left hand side on your map screen.
- Select the device you want to check mode of reporting for by clicking on the Centre Device button next to the name of the device.
- An information page for that specific device will then pop up on the right hand side of the map screen. The mode of reporting will be displayed in the information page under Sent Via. Please see below picture demonstrating this:
Alternatively you can click on the device icon for a specific unit in question on the map screen, and the information page will automatically appear with the same information as shown above.
Please note that the information page will only display the mode of reporting for the last report sent from the device to the platform.
If you would like to see the mode of reporting for more than the last report sent from your device to the Grid, or would like to check a specific time period within the last three months, you can go to our History module and select the specific vehicle, date and time.
Read more on how to use the History module here.
The results will show the mode of reporting in the Sent Via column, as pictured below:
Please note that this mode of reporting feature is not available for devices who only has a single mode of reporting in to the platform.
