A geofence is a geographical boundary that can be used to add context to your map.
On the Grid you can classify you geofence areas into three different types: 'High Risk - Exclusive', 'Medium Risk - Exclusive', and 'Low Risk - Inclusive'.
A ‘High Risk - Exclusive’ geofence type will trigger an alert if a device reports from inside that area. This geofence type has a transparent red colour and can be considered a high risk zone where one would advise against all travel, and where your Grid administrators should be alerted if a device enters.
A ‘Medium Risk - Exclusive’ geofence will also trigger an alert if a device reports from inside that area. This geofence type has a transparent orange colour and can be considered an area that is not as high risk as the red geofence area, but it is still advised against all but essential travel so your Grid administrators will need to be alerted if a device enters this area too.
A 'Low Risk - Inclusive' geofence type will trigger an alert if a device reports from outside that area. This geofence has a transparent green colour and can be considered as a low risk area.
You set the geofence type for each geofence area when creating it on the Grid platform:
