Testing Overwatch
- App users can initiate Overwatch sessions directly from the mobile app by selecting the maps tab on the app and pressing the Overwatch button.
- To be of value, Overwatch sessions require a web operator to be logged in to provide support and assistance to app users. This is a role that may be assigned to a 3rd party such as a Global Security Operations Centre or GSOC.
- To test Overwatch, coordinate a time with selected app users when you have users who are free to safely move around their local area (for example, by foot) and ask them to initiate short Overwatch sessions - such as 10 or 20 minutes and then move around the area.
- Once activated Web operators should be able to see app users' live location and engage in conversation with them via the chat capability in each session. Note: awareness of your surroundings must be prioritised when actively using the app while on the move.
- Web operators should be able to see each app user's device status including how it is connected (wi- fi or cellular) and the remaining battery life. If a user fails to extend their Overwatch session in the allotted time the Web operator should see the session icon turn red. The same applies if battery life drops below 10% or if the phone loses connection.
